His photos always make me so happy.

And then I can just click through his archive again for hours on.
What an exceptional project, what an exceptional photographer.

Thomas Schlijper is a sort of a chronicler of the Amsterdam city
life.
Ons Amsterdam
The ones who would like to have a daily confirmation that Amsterdam
is beautiful should loyally follow the weblog of the photographer
Thomas Schlijper. He posts a new photo of the every-day Amsterdam: of a
window washer on an insanely high ladder, of a homeless person with a
flower pot on his head, of the canals in the evening light, of a
comical traffic situation or simply of nice people.
The light is especially extraordinary in his photos. He manages to
catch an enchanting lighting in the centre of Amsterdam.

Schlijper is the man. May I say that, yes, I may say that.

What makes this website special is the fact that, every day, Thomas
Schlijper posts a photo of people, events, places, that he comes across
on that particular day. 'Every day fresh.' The archive of these daily
photos is already starting to look like The Image of The Netherlands in
The Beginning of the Twenty-First Century. I interviewed Thomas Schlijper using three photos
he himself chose.

Schlijper is a true 'street photographer' in the tradition of Ed van
deer Elsken. His work-area is the street and its by-passers. His work,
in which light and rain play a prominent role, is as recognizable as
unique. Even the most hard-core Rotterdamer is going to start loving
Amsterdam when he gets confronted with Schiljper's work.

I have already used 190 words and still haven't been able to say what the photo says.

(...) you can also check his work on the Thomas Schlijper
Photography - website. Every day he displays a photo of a person, place
or an event that he comes across that day. The year overviews, which he
clicks together in this way, comprise the spirit of the time
perfectly.
Computer Idee
A photo blog that writes history as we speak.

I have a love and hate relationship with the city of Amsterdam. I
don't live in it and I don't think that I ever will. But, once in a
while, when I look the photolog of Thomas Schlijper, for a split
second, I consider moving there after all. He is so good at portraying
this city as beautiful.
Algemeen Dagblad
Professional photographer Thomas Schlijper writes contemporary
history. With his daily photos he gives a beautiful image of what is
happening (mainly in the Randstad).

Thomas Schlijper captures daily Dutch life. Imagine that in a hundred
years people ask themselves the question how people used to live in
Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in 2005. I would advise them not to open a
history (e-)book, nor should they bother to consult newspapers from
that period. I herewith advise them to have a look at the pictures of
Thomas Schlijper. Schlijper captures the day.

In passing, he sent to me the nicest photographer of Amsterdam:
Thomas Schlijper.
